Nick Dalba
I have an extensive background in Facilities Management and Construction. I began my career as a Facility Manager at St. John’s Hospital in 1977. Since then, I have held various Facilities positions at hospitals in California, Pennsylvania and Arizona. My current responsibilities include facility planning, design and construction activities as well as real estate. I received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from St. Louis University. After completion of my military service, I attended the University of Minnesota and obtained my Masters in Public Health. I also completed a Masters in Business Administration from California Lutheran College. I have attended numerous seminars and classes on topics ranging from management training and negotiations to construction project administration. I have been a member of ASHE since 1979 and was a member of the ASHE Board of Directors on two occasions, 1993-1994 and 1999-2002. I have also held various offices in the California Society for Healthcare Engineering (CSHE) including a term as State Chairman and received both Outstanding Member and Distinguished Member recognition. I am currently a member of the CASHE Steering Committee.

Penny Walker I have been a hospital administrator for over 25 years working for some of the largest healthcare systems in the Valley. As an administrator, I have had direct administrative responsibility for construction, design and facilities management – overseeing general renovation projects to building new hospitals. I am currently the Vice President of ancillary and support at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, a 750 bed tertiary care center. St. Joseph’s offers many facility challenges – a new state of the art tower to a tower aging over 75 years. I found my membership and involvement with ASHE and CASHE as an invaluable resource as my team manages this complex facility. It’s my time to give back and would find it an honor to serve CASHE in this role on the Board.
